First Presbyterian Church Food Pantry
Hours 10am-12pm Tuesday & Thursday in Church Library
First Presbyterian Church maintains an active food pantry. Donations of non-perishable food and/or cash donations are received from church members, friends of the church, local business “food drives”, donations to Feed My People food bank in Eau Claire, and individuals throughout the community.
During any given week 10-30 bags may be given out to individuals visiting the pantry. A packed bag typically contains: cans of Fruit or Fruit Juice, cans of Vegetables, Meals or Beans, Soup, Tuna, boxes of Mac & Cheese, Cereal, Pancake Mix, Syrup, Pasta, can or jar of Tomato Item and 1-3 other, miscellaneous food items. Depending on donations household or personal hygiene products might also be available. During the cold season mittens, hats and coats may also be distributed as needed.
The Food Pantry is staffed by volunteers and is open 10:00 am – 12:00 noon each Tuesday & Thursday. It is located in the church library. Food can be received three times in a six-month period by any one individual or family.
Donations of non-perishable food items or cash are always needed and appreciated. There is a Food Pantry basket in the church narthex that you may place your donated non-perishable food items in. Checks/cash may be mailed to the church office or placed in the offering basket, please indicate “Food Pantry” on the memo line of your check. When the pantry is in need of specific items a notice is placed in the church bulletin and the monthly newsletter The BELL.
The pantry is currently staffed by church members and community volunteers; managed by Cherie Andringa, administrative assistant. If you would like to volunteer please let the church office or one of the Food Pantry volunteers know.
