Deacons are ordained members of the church. They are charged with the responsibility of the ministries of care, witness, and service. Often they divide the congregation and other people connected to the church, into groups that are assigned to each Deacon for care. Many times Deacons have specialized training in hospital visitation and visiting members at home. Duties of a Deacon also may include seeing that meals are brought to the sick and those who experience a death in the family, as well as welcoming visitors and friends of the church. Together with the Pastor, Deacons bring communion to those who are not able to come to worship.
For some of us, Sunday is the only time we have to catch up on the life’s events of our friends, neighbors and guests. What a perfect environment for deepening those old and new friendships – meet, share, re-connect with a relaxing cup of coffee or a delicious meal.
Sunday Morning - We welcome you to join us each Sunday for an array of food and drink. This will be served buffet style in the Fellowship Hall beginning at 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. each Sunday Morning.
Old-Fashioned Potluck – Bi-monthly we share a family style Potluck Fellowship after worship, another great way to strengthen that connection – our family of faith. Don’t worry if you don’t have time to cook, we have a deli next door, leave a donation, or just come and enjoy food and fellowship. There is always plenty.
Wednesday Family Supper – During the school year, forget about cooking on Wednesday night. Bring the whole family for dinner at 5:30 p.m. and stay for the 6:15 p.m. Christian Education, Activity or Choir Practice. Ten teams rotate cooking through the year. Menus are subject to change at the cooking team’s discretion, but are always good and include a main entree, dessert and beverage. Donations are accepted.
We invite you and your family to join us.
Note: If public schools in our community cancel school due to snow emergencies or for any other reason, church events scheduled for that day and/or night will also be cancelled.
