Cancer Support
My Navigator – American Cancer Society
An ACS Navigator offers free, confidential assistance to cancer patients and those who care for them. Navigators are trained to listen and learn the individual’s needs and create a personalized plan. Navigators provide extensive cancer information, assist in locating resources, arrange for durable medical equipment, coordinate transportation and lodging, and connect patients with resources for wigs, hats, and prostheses. ACS also provides many other programs and services to support cancer patients and their families, such as Hozhoni Weekend Camp for children with cancer; online support network; Cancer Action Network; Look Good…Feel Better program to help deal with appearance-related side effects of treatment; and support programs, some specific to the type of cancer. ACS also offers scholarships to young survivors, HOPE Lodge for adult cancer patients being treated in Marshfield and Rochester, and help with financial and insurance questions.
